You’ll have a better time exploring the neighborhood and it’ll feel more vibrant and safe at night. Both are near the Westin.īut I would second the people saying to just stay in Midtown. This is a solid mid-range property with theater-themed decor, a roomy lobby, and a nice lobby restaurant and bar, the latter opened until late. I’ve been to the bars at both the AC Marriott and The American and they were both cool and seemed like nice places to stay. The Hotel Indigo Atlanta is a historic property situated in Midtown across the street from the Fox Theatre and in walking distance to restaurants, bars, a MARTA station, and Georgia Tech. But I have historically had good experiences with Indigos. Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn Express. I’d pick the Indigo over the Westin if it were me. Staffers and their families get free access to Health Advocate. Enjoy spacious guest rooms, free breakfast, and a rooftop lounge in the heart of Midtown Arts.

It will be safer along Peachtree where the hotels you mentioned are, rather than around Centennial and immediately outside the Aquarium (at night). Book a stay at our Hampton Inn & Suites Atlanta Midtown hotel. With not everyone back in the office and fewer visitors, I imagine that is probably more noticeable these days.

So if you walked around at night it wasn’t iffy because of sketchy people, it mostly just felt like there wasn’t a crowd to ward off anything bad happening. Pre-Covid, it would pretty much empty out around 6p when the office folk went home and most of the attractions closed. Now 149 (Was 189) on Tripadvisor: Hotel Indigo Atlanta Midtown, an IHG Hotel, Atlanta. Downtown isn’t so much a bad neighborhood as it can feel unsafe because it feels so…empty.
